userdefi9ned service is always flagged for deletion

I’m trying to create a service using the reskit instsrv and srvany. I had this one working perfectly before someone yanked the power while norton 2007 was needing a restart and the whole windows install became unuseable (sorry, i’m still a bit angry about this) every time i type <c:\reskit\instsrv.exe TrueCrypt c:\reskit\srvany.exe> in an admin command prompt, the service is created, then while i’m setting the arguements for the service, windows flags it for deletion and the service is useless.

could someone please help, i can’t start to rebuild until i get this to work.

thanks

USB Safe Removal

Hi.
I’m trying to connect my cellphone (Sony Ericsson) to my computer, using USB.
I’m using recent Vista-compatible drivers, however, the cellphone almost immediately states "session ended, safe to remove".
I gather that this is a Vista feature, that removes the little "safe removal" icon down in the corner of the Windowsbar.
Is there any way to disable this feature for this, or all, USB devices?

Vista grumpy after sleeping

My computer runs fine… until it sleeps. When I try to do anything after it sleep it locks up, but not in any happy easily resettable way. It locks up, and even after I power down and power back up it tries to restore itself which is really annoying. How can I either disable sleep or make it wake up happy and refreshed?

Down time

As you may of noticed we lost the server there for a while, things might get a little funky for the next few hours while I get it fully up and running.

If you find anything that isn’t working, please let me know here.

Infrared Driver missing

Hi,
I never ran in to this kind of problem in my life so far. Recently I bought a Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I tried to dual boot Ubuntu 7.04 with it. This actually replaced my boot loader with GRUB. I formatted the Ubuntu without being aware that GRUB would start again during reboot. The next time I restarted the computer, GRUB blind Windows Vista and I couldnt log on.
So, I formatted the Computer using Windows Vista recovery DVD.
Then I installed all the drivers for Vista. Onething I cant find is the Infrared driver. I tried a full hardware [vista hardware]mod.info/category/vistamods/>[hardware mods] search and Vista doesnt locate it. I tried to get Chat help from Lenovo and they didnt answer me. I dont know what kind of Infrared device the laptop is equipped with.
Is there anyway, I can find the infrared device even though it is not listed under device manager? I dont want to buy any softwares please. Free and safe ones would do.
I want it to work. If you know the infrared device name for Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop, please let me know.

Thanks for the help. Please do help. I need Infrared for my remote controller so that I can do presentations easily.

MFC5100C Printer Brother/Vista issues

Hello., Any thoughts and or ideas if this is compatable with Vista and where exactly there would be a driver?

Secondly, since this Vista package does NOT have faxing in it, what are most of you doing to work around that issue?

Finally, any of you who use Verizon as an ISP., they offer a free virus guard package, TO MY knowledge the virus guard, spam ware are not compatable or are they with vista, any ideas on a universal or good package for protection?

Thank you.

Windows Vista .32 or .64 or XP?

Hello guys!
Well, this is my first post ever, and I’m having issues, and on-going discussions with my friends as I’m getting a new computer. I am trying to decide whether to get the 64 bit version or 32 bit version of vista, or just go for windows XP.

This is the current setup of my going to be ordered computer (ordering it next week).

Mother board: EVGA nForce 680i SE SLI (TR Version) Motherboard - NVIDIA, Socket 775, ATX, Audio, SLI Ready, PCI Express, Dual Gigabit LAN, S/PDIF, USB 2.0 & Firewire, Serial ATA, RAID

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz Processor

Ram: OCZ Dual Channel Gold XTC 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB) (times 2 for 4gigs of ram)

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB Hard Drive - 7200, 8MB, Serial ATA-300, OEM (I don’t really d/l things all that often…didn’t need that much room)

GFX card: HIS Radeon X1950 Pro / 512MB GDDR3 / PCI Express / DL Dual DVI / HDTV / CrossFire Ready / Video Card

cd/dvd writer/reader: Pioneer DVR-112DBK OEM DVD Burner - 18x DVD?R Burn, 16x DVD?R Read, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 10x DVD?R DL, 40×32x CD-R/RW, Black, with Software

I also have a logitech webcam, a "Z-board, WoW eddition" and a PSP to consider.

My question is simple…will Vista 64bit version support these? If not, will the 32bit version support this setup?

And finally, if no for both, what should i really change in my build for the comp? (Don’t really think that getting windows XP is a good idea, but if you guys think so, please lemme know.)

Thanks alot in advance, Rheagar101!
